The shower I constructed for Moisture1 served two functions: to interact with with visitors to CLUI's Desert Research Station and their water use, and to interact with the other projects of Moisture1 and the climactic conditions of the area. As an economical shower facility, users could carry a bucket of water from the DRS building to fill the shower ... Water use is conscious and limited by the user's effort. [ > ]

The shower also collects rain water and funnels water into a swale that feeds the aquifer and its related ponds built by Claude Willey and Deena Capparelli. In this way the shower connects to a small system which we discovered would actually make slight changes in the plant growth and attracted living creatures as well. [ << ]
