On October 28th, Deena and I went out to the MOISTURE site with my colleague and friend, Ashwani who is an environmental planner and professor at California State University, Northridge. As we usually do, we stopped at the CLUI DRS before heading out to the site. Getting out to the site in March proved much harder than Claude and I ever anticipated.  Three weeks in a row we had planned and then canceled trips due to extreme weather conditions: last week was stalled traffic on the I-15, the week before high winds, and the week before that heavy rains. Damian worked on the plots a few days, after I sent him the entire batch, and he sent the files to me via email. On Sunday, December 18th, Deena and I trekked out to the MOISTURE main site, leaving Rancho Cucamonga around 8:30am. We drove directly to Hinkley, stopping off to take some photos of the town for Jeppe in Denmark, arriving at the CLUI Desert Research Station around 9:45am. I recieved the transmitters from Lotech in Canada. They emit a Sputnik type blip using a simple RF signal. I can now go out with any radio frequency receiver and pick up their signal.
